Effective August 2, 2026 · Applies to the Claudius Maximus Mac app and claudiusmaximus.dev
These Terms govern your purchase and use of Claudius Maximus, a Mac desktop app that shows Claude Code usage limits in widgets and sends limit alerts. By downloading, activating, or using Claudius Maximus, you agree to these Terms. 1. Your license
When you purchase Claudius Maximus, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, subject to these Terms. Your purchase is a one-time lifetime license for the app — there is no subscription.
2. License keys & activations
Your purchase includes a license key issued through Lemon Squeezy. The key may be activated on up to two (2) Macs. You’re responsible for keeping your key private. Sharing, reselling, or publishing your key — or attempting to exceed your activation limit — may result in the key being deactivated.
3. Payments & merchant of record
Lemon Squeezy is our merchant of record. All purchases are made through Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment processing, billing, sales tax/VAT, receipts, and related buyer support under its own terms. Prices are shown at checkout and may change over time; a change never affects a license you’ve already bought.
4. Refunds
If Claudius Maximus doesn’t work for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we’ll issue a refund and deactivate the license. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy.
5. Updates
Your license includes app updates delivered through the in-app Sparkle updater. We aim to keep Claudius Maximus working as Claude and macOS evolve, but we may change, add, or remove features over time.
6. Dependence on Anthropic & Claude
Claudius Maximus reads usage information from your existing Claude Code installation and Anthropic’s usage API. It requires an active Claude account with Claude Code set up on the same Mac, and it does not raise, change, or manage your Anthropic usage limits. Claudius Maximus is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. Anthropic may change its plans, limits, or APIs at any time, which may affect or interrupt what Claudius Maximus can display; we’re not responsible for those changes.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app except as permitted by law; redistribute, resell, sublicense, or rent the app or your license key; remove or alter any proprietary notices; or use the app to violate Anthropic’s terms or any applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
Claudius Maximus, including its name, branding, and software, remains the property of its developer. These Terms don’t transfer any ownership to you — only the license described above. “Claude” and related marks belong to Anthropic; other names are the property of their respective owners.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Claudius Maximus is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the usage figures it shows will always be accurate or timely — treat them as a helpful indicator, not a guarantee. You’re responsible for how you use Claude.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Claudius Maximus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost work, lost time, or missed Claude usage, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
11. Termination
These Terms apply while you use Claudius Maximus. Your license ends if you breach these Terms (for example, by redistributing your key). You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Georgia, United States have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the app. Nothing here limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the laws of your country or state of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app and our services change. The current version always lives at claudiusmaximus.dev/terms, with the effective date at the top. Continuing to use Claudius Maximus after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
